Geraldine O’Keeffe has been appointed as Pastoral Parish Worker by the Archbishop for the Pastoral Area of Dundrum, Ballinteer and Meadowbrook. She took up her appointment on Monday 6th July 2009. We extend to her a warm welcome. As part of her training Geraldine was previously in Ballinteer between January and Easter 2009 when she moved on for further training.
We are delighted to have her back with us and we wish her and her a happy, fruitful and satisfactory Ministry.
Geraldine was one of the 13 Parish Pastoral Workers commissioned by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin in the Pro Cathedral on Saturday 27th June 2009 –women and men– who come from a variety of backgrounds, are theology graduates and have just completed a year long formation course in Mater Dei Institute. The group includes a number of former teachers, a barman, a homemaker, a technician and students. Their central role will be to support priests and communities in educating people in their faith in, supporting and developing parish initiatives around prayer and the sacraments.
Another two of our previous Trainee Parish Pastoral Workers Sean O'Rourke & Hannah Evans were also commissioned and have been assigned to Saggart & Kilcullen Parishes respectively as Parish Pastoral Workers.

Geraldine was very pleased to have been assigned to continue her training in St. John The Evangelist Parish, Ballinteer. Geraldine was very happy in Ballinteer and she hopes that she make some contribution to the life and the work of the parish.
