Fr Jim O'Sullivan C.C.
Fr Jim O'Sullivan died peacefully at 11pm on Friday 17th April 2009 at Our Lady's Hospice, Blackrock.
His remains arrived in the church at 5pm on Saturday 18th April.
Archbishop Martin attended the special evening prayers for Fr Jim in the church at 7pm on Sunday 19th April and spoke on Fr Jim's 54 years of Ministry.
Fr Jim's funeral mass took place at 12 noon on Monday 20th April and burial followed to Dean's Grange Cemetery.
Fr Jim's Month Mind Mass was celebrated on 19th May 2009.

Fr Jim served in a number of parishes in the diocese beginning with a chaplaincy at Carriglea, Bakers Cross, a further Chaplaincy followed at Loreto Dalkey before he was appointed an assistant in Glasnevin. His first curacy was at Kilcullen, Co. Kildare , followed by Wicklow Town, Clondalkin.
He was appointed as Parish Priest to develop a new area at Bawnogue, Clondalkin where he built a Church, Schools and Presbyteries. In 1985 he was appointed Parish Priest of Ballbriggan, Co. Dublin where he served until he stepped down to become a curate at Ballinteer in 1996.
Fr Jim was always available for spiritual chats, prayer guidance, etc. If anyone wanted to have a spiritual chat or just talk things over or to make a one-to-one retreat then Fr jim was always pleased to oblige. His faithful friends will remember his Thursday night Lectio Divina sessions with warm affection.
Fr Jim was a great scripture reader and on numerous occassions he followed the the footsteps of St.Paul. He was a very holy, generous and kind man and he was much loved by those who know him.
Fr Jimas also very interested in all sports, he loved to play a game of golf with his old friends and indeed played regulary up to the end of last year.

Saturday 14 May 2005.
