The parish commitment to dealing with child sexual abuse is based on the Archdiocese of Dublin’s Child Protection Policies. It is based on certain guiding principles including the following: 1. All parishioners have the right and duty to ensure that children are protected in every possible way as they
participate in the life of the parish and exercise a ministry in it. 2. Giving a prompt response to all allegations of child sexual abuse. 3. Where it is known or suspected that a child has been abused by a clerical or lay person serving the Church, the
matter will be reported to the relevant Church and State Authority. 4. Care being given to the emotional and spiritual welfare of those who have suffered abuse and their families.
