Canon Battelle's Requiem Mass
Canon John Patrick Battelle P.E.
17/3/1931 - 29/1/2012
Ar deis Dé go raibh a h-anam
Celebrant: Fr Brian O'Sullivan
Homily: Fr Philip Curran P.P.
Words of thanks: Brian Battelle
In total there were 31 priests present on the Altar, a wonderful tribute to a truly warm, generous, kind and
holy man. The Church was full with family, friends and parishioners from Ballinteer where Canon Battelle served
for 20 years, 14 of them as Parish Priest.
A special Choir was assembled for the day by our Organist and sang beautifully and the hymns chosen
suited the occasion perfectly.
The Canon's nephew Brian Battelle recalled some fond memories and spoke nice words of thanks to the Canon's family,
friends, parishioners,
staff of St. Vincent's Hospital, and all those present at the mass.
